With Intention

At TOYINE, sustainability is not a framework we work towards, it is already in the nature of how we have always worked.
Every TOYINE textile is made to order. We do not produce speculatively, hold surplus stock, or manufacture at volume. A piece begins its life only when it is needed, which means no overproduction, no waste, and no compromise on quality. Our textiles are designed to be permanent, not replaceable. A TOYINE fabric does not go out of fashion because it was never designed to follow it.

Preserving know-how
We train our own weavers and are committed to supporting French and European textile craftsmanship. The techniques used in our atelier take years to master, slow by design, and worth preserving. Every piece that leaves our atelier carries that accumulated skill within it.
Nothing is wasted
We actively look for ways to give every remnant of our production a second life. We collaborate with TILT.Brussels, the Belgian artistic studio, to incorporate our textile waste into their sculptural light installations, a creative partnership that turns what might have been discarded into something new.

Leftover yarns are woven into throws, available through our boutique and offered as gifts, while test weaves and over-weaves become pillows, each one unique by nature. Our Petit Bouts, curated remnant fabric pieces, offer the most beautiful fragments of our production a new home.

Each year, our Christmas gifts to clients are handmade from leftover leathers and fabrics from the atelier, small objects that carry the same care and materiality as everything else we make. In our atelier, very little is thrown away, and what remains is always worth something.
A note on longevity
The most sustainable textile is one that is never replaced. We price, make, and present our work accordingly.
